Peacemaking Pilgrimage Interest Form

We have partnered with the Telos Group, an organization that helps form and equip communities of peacemakers to heal intractable conflict. We hope to have peacemaking pilgrimages to Israel/Palestine, Northern Ireland, the American South, and even here in South Bend.

These trips are immersive, communal, and unique. Each pilgrimage is a deep dive into the lives, realities, and cultures of conflict or post-conflict spaces, providing an unparalleled opportunity for experiential learning and relationship development.

Please complete the following interest form to tell us more about yourself and your interest in our peacemaking pilgrimages. We welcome our long distance community members to consider joining.

ABOUT PEACEMAKING PILGRIMAGES
Ireland/Northern Ireland (November 9–18, 2026)
Explore Ireland and Northern Ireland’s culture, history, and current political reality, and learn valuable tools and lessons from local peacemakers and activists working to transform a society coming out of conflict. This is not a typical tourist experience. Together, we’ll dive deep into the history and ongoing legacy of “the Troubles,” the decades-long conflict that tore entire communities and the island apart. We will hear from a variety of perspectives about what repair and restoration look like today. Beyond powerful meetings, incredible vistas, and rich cultural experiences, you will gain invaluable lessons on peacemaking and conflict transformation work that have the power to change how you and your community engage the world.

South Bend Pilgrimage (Fall 2026 / dates coming soon)
Inspired by the Telos peacemaking pilgrimage trips, our local pilgrimage exposes participants to the complex history and current realities of our city, equipping them with a deeper understanding of the unjust structures and creative responses that shape South Bend and the communities within it.

ReStory US in the American South (future dates)
This pilgrimage is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of American slavery and Jim Crow laws, in stories of the civil rights movement—past and present—and in today’s narratives of the Black community in America. We will do this on a journey that starts in New Orleans; takes us through Jackson, MS; on to Selma, AL; and ends in Montgomery, AL—visiting significant sites, learning at museums and memorials, and hearing from civil rights activists along the way.

Israel/Palestine (future dates)
This pilgrimage is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the Holy Land, where we will learn from present-day peacemakers who are practicing the Biblical call to reconciliation through loving the “other” in their community. We hope that biblical understanding and practices of everyday peacemaking will transform participants. Trips to the Holy Land also strive to bring your Bible to life, learning in the very places Jesus walked and taught 2,000 years ago.

Cost of this trip include all travel accommodations, meals, and participation fees. Trip costs can range from $2500-$4500. If so please describe why help is needed. (As we sort through applications, our initial list of participants will be need-blind. Please don't hesitate to let us know what your financial capacity is. It won't effect your eligibility for a trip. However, once we select a group of potential participants, we'll begin to work through scholarship needs and determine whether we have enough scholarship funds available to bridge the gap between trip cost and your resource capacity.)
